Mild Hybrid Power with Confident Performance
Under the hood, the 2026 Volvo XC40 features a B5 AWD mild hybrid gasoline powertrain that delivers 247 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The mild hybrid system helps improve efficiency while providing quick, responsive acceleration when you need it. Paired with a smooth automatic transmission, the powertrain offers refined performance that feels equally comfortable in city traffic and on the open highway.
When it's time to merge or overtake, the XC40 responds with confidence, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds. With a top speed of 180 km/h, it offers plenty of capability for everyday Canadian driving.
Ready for Canadian Roads
Standard All-Wheel Drive (AWD) gives the XC40 added confidence in changing weather and varying road conditions. Whether you're driving through heavy rain, tackling snowy winter roads, or exploring scenic routes beyond the city, the AWD system helps maintain traction and stability for greater peace of mind. The XC40 also offers seating for five passengers, making it an excellent choice for families, commuters, and active lifestyles.
Efficiency Without Compromise
Performance doesn't come at the expense of efficiency. The 2026 Volvo XC40 has a combined fuel consumption rating of 9.1 L/100 km, helping you spend more time enjoying the drive and less time at the fuel station. A 54-litre fuel tank provides practical driving range for both daily commutes and longer road trips throughout British Columbia.
Built for Everyday Versatility
Beyond its strong performance, the XC40 is ready for life's adventures. It offers a maximum towing capacity of 1,600 kg, making it suitable for towing small trailers, recreational equipment, or lightweight campers. A roof load capacity of 75 kg adds even more flexibility for carrying bikes, skis, or cargo boxes.
